Sound Machine Alarm Clock
When shopping for a sound machine you will have a choice of
features that will be available to you. One clear point of
difference is whether you are looking for a dedicated sound
machine that does little, if anything else, or a unit that
is sound machine alarm clock that looks much like a
regular clock radio except that it has a
sound machine built in.
Currently, the Homedics sound machine range consists of
eight models of which six are sound machine alarm clocks.
If you intend to keep your sound machine permanently next to
your bed then you should seriously consider the sound machine
alarm clock style. If you are reluctant because you feel that
you already have a perfectly good alarm clock then
consider this a small investment for the space saving
convenience of having two appliances built into one. Perhaps
you may consider donating you old clock radio to a charity. On
the other hand, if you have a true top-end unit such as what
Bose manufactures, then you shall need to decide what is more
important to you and compare the sound quality of the top end
of the sound machine alarm clock range.
If, like most of us, you have a regular inexpensive clock
radio then this shouldn't be an issue. Besides, the Homedics
sound machine alarm clock range is also inexpensive beginning
at a recommended retail price of $29.99. The most expensive
unit is the Homedics Sound Spa SS-7000 at $79.99 and features
superb sound through its state-of-the-art bass reflex
technology. Bear in mind, that you should also be able to find
cheaper prices if you shop around.
Another feature of the SS-7000 is that it provides an iPod
dock. This is a very convenient function because not only can
you set the alarm to play the iPod, but you can just use the
high quality speakers to listen to your iPod at any other
time.
The iPod docking capability also gives you the ability to
fall asleep listening to your favourite music. Not only that,
but if you become bored with the built-in natural sounds of the
sound machine then you could buy or record other soothing
sounds and put them onto your iPod and fall asleep to those.
You could even use a guided relaxation or hypnosis recording -
the possibilities become endless.
It seems that the only real reasons to consider one of the
two models in the Homedics sound machine range that do not have
a clock radio is if you absolutely do not want to replace your
current clock radio, or you want something smaller and more
portable, or if it is for your baby's room where clearly an
alarm clock would be of no benefit.
